the candy stash, and Big Brother

M had the candy stash from school yesterday. (Check out an old post about handling candy stash days...) She had one or two pieces with her after-school snack, then this morning,  she asked for a sucker with breakfast, and I said, "sure." She handles this stuff so well... I too am still amazed. Then she worried, "Uh oh, they will see my green tongue and know I had candy with breakfast!" I said, "So?" She replied, "Well, Mr. C said if we eat candy we'll get hyper." Sheesh. I told her not to worry, that candy doesn't make you hyper, though some people think it does. I did say that if all you ate was a sucker, you might get a little hungry or cranky before lunch, but the thought that she was worried about her green tongue "giving her away" made me sad. (She also had some milk and cereal.)Feels like we are being watched. Read this article, and tell me we aren't...How did your kids handle the stash? How are you being "watched" and interfered with in terms of  how and what you are feeding your family?
